Ocean Dunes is pleased to announce that the course will remain open for play in July and August 2020, pending COVID-19 restrictions easing and freely allowing golfers to travel to King Island. In previous years the course closed on 30th June and re-opened 1st September.
The Cape Wickham Links course is also remaining open in July and August and enables a customary King Island golfing experience playing both courses.
This decision to remain open enables golfers to play the No.4 ranked Public Access course in Australia all year round. The perception by many that the months of June, July, August and September may be too rugged are not necessarily the case, when some beautiful conditions prevail. We know that even through the warmer months, King Island weather can be quite diverse!! The course will have its ‘winter coat’ on as you would expect but still provide the enduring test of links golf.
The secret to accessing these milder conditions is utilsing the 7-day forward weather forecasts and being available to travel on short notice. In short:
- GOOD – If the weather forecast is good
- READY – If you and some mates are available to travel on short notice
- GO – Then, make a booking and enjoy some pure King Island links golf
- Packages are available at oceandunes.com.au
As an added incentive during the June to September period, Off-Peak rates have been established to provide even greater value.

We look forward to your visit and playing pure links golf.
