A visit from golf gurus has inspired Ocean dunes to preview their golf course with an exclusive promotional competition. “We had Mike Keiser of Bandon dunes, Oregon USA the top ‘play and stay’ golf destination in the world and richard sattle of Barnbougle dunes and Lost Farm, tour our half completed course here at Ocean dunes,” said designer and director Graeme Grant. “they were so impressed and complimentary, they stood at the top of the hill, overlooking the first hole and the coast shaking their heads in amazement and told us we have to start promoting this course pronto.
“So we’ve followed their advice to start getting ‘the word’ about the course out into the golf world, with a ‘taste-test’ preview. “We’re planning to host a small nine hole competition here in early april, sponsored by Vortex air, in what we hope will be an annual event, with the generous co-operation of the Island’s two other golf courses. “We have invited 20 mainlanders to compete against 20 King Islanders over four days, playing the King Island Golf and Bowling club links, Ocean Dunes and Cape Wickham.
